Andrew Shaw was a competitive man on a star-studded team from Chicago who he won two Stanley Cups with. Now, he’s calling it a career.
Shaw announced his retirement on Monday after suffering a career ending concussion in a February 9th game against the Dallas Stars.
“After hearing what doctors told me, I think it was the right thing to do. For all being said, I would like to thank all of my teammates for aspiring to become who I am today. Especially to the ones in Chicago”. said the 29 year old native of Belleville Ontario.
He finishes his career with 116 goals and 131 assists with the Blackhawks and the Montreal Canadiens as well as being a career plus 24 and 14 game winning goals. Shaw said his stats are something that he should be very proud of.
“Although my life isn’t over, I still got a lot more to live” concluded Andrew
