I had the pleasure of sitting down with Ottawa DJ and producer Rise Ashen of the group Silla and Rise. The group combines Inuit throat singing and futuristic beats to create a unique and distinct sound. They recently received 2 nominations and 2 winds at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards, and while they’re still celebrating “Galactic Gala”, they’re already deep into their third album.
